Cooperatives going strong in Cincinnati

We may not be able to control what is happening in the world, but we can choose how we show up for each other. Our partners at Co-op Cincy are a reminder of that — of the work being done, the values being lived, and the community holding steady around you.

In their latest newsletter, Co-op Cincy introduces new cooperatives, a labor neutrality pledge and news of the cooperative movement.

Some highlights from the March 2026 Co-op Cincy newsletter:

Welcome: Cincinnati Language Services Cooperative A new member has joined the Co-op Cincy network. This worker-owned cooperative provides interpretation and translation services with a focus on accessibility and immigrant justice. They serve a wide range of clients, added about 26 new ones last year, and are enthusiastic about embracing co-ownership principles.

Labor Neutrality Pledge (USFWC) The US Federation of Worker Cooperatives has launched a Labor Neutrality Pledge, asking co-op organizations to formally commit to respecting workers’ right to unionize. The pledge encourages co-ops to go beyond informal support by incorporating this commitment into governing documents and offering related training.

New Staff Spotlight: Susan, Co-op Business Developer Co-op Cincy introduces Susan, their new Co-op Business Developer, in a Q&A format. She brings a background in organizational development, Sociocracy, and Appreciative Inquiry, with experience across nonprofits in the US and NGOs in India. Her focus is on helping organizations align their internal culture with their external mission.

Topia Coffee Rebrands as Radical Bean Coffee Cooperative The Cincinnati worker-owned coffee shop formerly known as Topia Coffee Cooperative has rebranded as Radical Bean Coffee Cooperative, reflecting a sharper focus on community affordability and creating a welcoming neighborhood gathering space.

Our Harvest Cooperative & Food Gleaning Our Harvest Cooperative is partnering with the Society of St. Andrew to revive the practice of gleaning — harvesting surplus crops from fields — to reduce food waste and fight hunger, with volunteers distributing produce directly to local food pantries and community organizations.
