Reclaiming Our Home Environment

Sustainability seems like it’s a word that has become a lot more common today than it has in the past, and rightfully so, as we should have been thinking about it from the beginning when it comes to our products.  I’ve learned a lot in my 15 years studying the issue related to toxic chemicals and how they are affecting us, and after three films that had taken me all over the world to make, I have a few things to say to everyone when we think about what we are buying, selling and bringing into our homes.

Indoor air quality is six times worse inside than it is outside, and that’s something that seriously makes me upset.  Think about what I just said, six times worse inside.  Well, where do we spend most of our time, inside or out?  I mean, we hit the accelerator after WW2 when it comes to how products are made and very, very little thought was put into health repercussions for decades.  The economy depended on fast, cheap, innovative and plentiful synthetics to be pumped out on a conveyor belt, straight into our minds and then into our homes.  That’s not to suggest that it was all bad, but it was demonstrably terrible for the air we breathe.  Consider a day in the life that we have today.  What’s your couch made of?  Your chairs?  Your food?  Your cleaning products?  Your baby crib?  I suppose we’ve been a little more conscious of that dilemma within the past ten years, and everyone is doing their best, but it’s up to all of us to get better a lot more quickly.

I’ve made three films, and all of them are now free on our new platform called RegenFilms www.regenfilms.earth and you can watch those and a few others right now.  “Unacceptable Levels” won four major awards, was screened all across the globe, was on Netflix (as a DVD in the mail if anyone remembers those, lol) and was sort of a film that worked to help people to understand what I discovered.  I found out that chemicals are the backbone of our economy, not just in the US, but across the planet.  When I learned that only a fraction of those chemicals have actually been tested for safety and health effects, I thought about my kids and what that means for them.  Sure, they could get struck by lightning (1 in 15,300), they could be attacked by a shark (1 in 11.5 million) and they could die by a snakebite (1 in 50 million in US), but their odds of getting childhood cancer is (1 in 285).  That’s why I do what I do today, and that’s what compelled me to make two more films around toxic chemicals “A NEW RESISTANCE” and “ADVANCE WARNING”, as one is dealing with agricultural chemicals and the other is flame retardants.  What did I discover?  That things are a lot worse than I had ever imagined, as these chemicals get into our bodies and some, once they are in, they stay there and do damage for our entire lives.  For my next film, however, which is titled “FOREVER and EVER” even after being in this realm of toxic chemicals, nothing even comes close to PFAS.

“FOREVER and EVER” has the best catchphrase I think I could have ever come up with, because it is simply the truth.  PFAS is simply “Our Worst Bad Idea” because we created this, used it, ate it, inhaled it, and wiped it on ourselves and our children and have utilized a chemical that is nearly indestructible for nearly 8 decades and counting.  That film is perhaps my last in the world of toxic chemicals, and it is perhaps the most important film I will ever do, without a doubt.  It has information on our site, and we do have a celebrity Producer and Narrator involved, but we need you most of all to help.  Film production in the world of human health is tough to get funding from, primarily because there is a lot on the line for a lot of wallets if people find out about this.  So, we need your support to get this thing done!  There is a QR code on our site for donations, and with your support, we can change lives.  Maybe yours, maybe your children and hopefully both!

www.Regenfilms.earth is looking to help change the world!  With you, we can!!!

We have a HUGE new film starring Esai Morales as the Narrator called “Forever and Ever” that we’re working on now.  If you would like to help us to make it, that would be incredible! Donate to making of this film. Watch the trailer.
