Webinar: State siting reform: How updating Ohio’s energy rules keeps lights on and bills lower

Did you know that in Ohio, counties are allowed to completely ban utility-scale solar? In fact, since 2021, almost half of counties in our state have banned utility-scale solar in their communities.
These bans prevent their residents from reaping the benefits of clean, affordable energy. They infringe on property rights, too. But some communities are organizing to fight back and overturn the bans.
In our next session of the Ohio Energy Champions program, we’ll discuss the recent campaign to overturn a ban on solar in Richland County. Come learn about how solar bans negatively affect local communities, and how collective action can work to overturn these bans.
